Prophet North America attends the Washington Conference in Washington DC

Mick Heatherington (VP - Sales) and Ben Toland (COO) attended the much anticipated Washington Conference in Washington DC last week.

Says Mick Heatherington, “It was an honor to attend the Washington Conference representing and advocating for the produce industry in what was an historical event in the capital. It was just superb to see the industry come together in such a united fashion and energetically pushing its critically significant messages to the congress on the importance of fresh produce and its production to American diet and health. To hear the congress and government really respond in a very positive way to the overall message was heartening. The IFPA policy team has done an incredible job this year in making real progress across all of its goals.”

Says Ben Toland, “I experienced a meaningful time in DC. International Fresh Produce Association did a superb job creating an opportunity for advocacy, insights and fellowship. I had productive meetings with Members of Congress and their incredible staff. I am grateful for this experience with Prophet SA, UK & US and other leaders of the fresh industry!”

The Washington Conference is the annual event that unites the fresh produce industry to address the most pressing public policy matters. Industry members come together to make their voices heard on key policy and regulatory issues that impact the industry, such as food safety, nutrition policy, immigration, labor, infrastructure and transportation.
